Features

Position data

Unique position data available by external source. Position changes can be determined as well as returning to previously visited area. Also mapping media to location, for example tells where a picture is taken.

Strength

Strength information can be received from multiple sources and multiple different types. Used for example for player or opponent strength. Changing mobile device's color scheme of UI depending strength, alternative way for strength bars.

Device information

Devices can be identified. Determing device changes.

Other data

Other data collected from the mobile device. Such as sound recording from the microphone or visual data from the digital camera. Taking a picture, recording a memo and comibining with other information available, such as a location.

Reference implementation

Conecow test

Test platform for Linux. Utilizes gammu/gnokii for mobile phone information, ACPI battery, ACPI CPU temperature, GPS (NMEA), WLAN and Bluetooth devices information.

Conecow Maemo test

Test application for maemo environment. Uses WLAN for the location and strength data. Tested on Nokia N800. Please install the deb-package. Remark you need wireless-tools package.

Conecow Symbian test

Test application for Symbian. Works with Nokia Series 80 (version 2.0) phones, including Nokia 9500 and Nokia 9300. Walk in virtual rooms which interacts with the real world and pick up cone cows. One room has one cone cow. Cone cow size depends on phone battery level and network signal strength. Idea is to pick up as many cows as possible and as special as possible. Portable on Symbian 7.0, 7.0s, 8.0 and 8.1a. Untested preliminary support for Symbian 9 and higher.

Requires Mobinfo. NOTE: Mobinfo no more available. That's why Symbian version is deprecated and not any more supported.
